Sacred Order in the Chaos: The Myth of Balance

Ma’at doesn’t demand balance; she reveals it.
She doesn’t erase the chaos.
She shows you how to walk through it, eyes open, soul intact.
A Ma’at Moon Reflection
This New Moon in Libra is not about the pursuit of balance.
It’s about surrendering to the illusion of control and choosing to find grace in the chaos.

This year, I’ve relearned—over and over—that crisis is not a detour. It’s the road. That perfection is a fantasy, and “balance” (at least the kind we’ve been sold) is a hollow word unless it includes pain, loss, mess, and mystery.
Libra often gets flattened into prettiness: harmony, elegance, aesthetics. But true Libra is about justice. About divine harmony in the face of disruption. And for that, I turn not to modern definitions, but to Ma’at—the ancient Egyptian concept of cosmic order and sacred balance.
Ma’at isn’t perfection.
Ma’at is flow.
Ma’at is breath.
Ma’at is staying open in the midst of change.
And lately, I’ve realized—
That’s enough. More than enough.

Key Takeaways for this Libra New Moon
• New Moon in Libra: Initiating new cycles in relationships, beauty, and inner harmony
• Sun in Libra square Jupiter in Cancer (separating):
A push-pull between overextending and emotional nourishment. The urge to make it all meaningful can clash with the need to feel safe and whole at home.
• Sun in Libra opposite Chiron in Aries:
A direct confrontation with the wound of unworthiness, especially around visibility, self-assertion, and relational identity. You may be asking: Do I deserve ease? Can I be seen without being perfect?
• Mars & Mercury conjunct in Scorpio:
Words carry weapons and wisdom. Intuition is razor sharp. We are speaking from the gut—and from our shadows. This is power meeting precision, truth meeting tension.
• Jupiter in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces:
A stabilizing current of faith through discipline. Long-term healing becomes possible if we can commit to softness, to tenderness, to compassionate structure.
• Moon square Pluto as Scorpio Season begins:
Emotional rebirth on the edge of descent. A final purge before the portal opens.
Mother’s Mirror: I Just Have to Last One Minute Longer
This New Moon feels like it could be so soft on the surface, but it cuts deep.

This year has reminded me that no matter how carefully I plan, a crisis will come. Meltdowns, illnesses, exhaustion, the weight of parenting, artistry, and spiritual leadership—all at once.
And sometimes, the only spiritual practice I have is this:
Last one minute longer than the storm.
Whether it’s a tantrum or a deadline or my own spiraling mind.
Balance isn’t a perfectly coordinated life. It’s the decision to keep showing up. Not polished, not perfect, but present.
The Sun opposes Chiron and squares Jupiter, asking us if we’re still measuring our worth by our performance, our productivity, our ability to make it all look effortless.

Mars and Mercury are conjunct in Scorpio. The real work is happening in our depths. And just as the Moon prepares to square Pluto and initiate Scorpio season, we’re given a final invitation:
Let it fall away. Let it be spoken. Let it become easy.
The Myth of Balance
This month, I pulled the Tower card—and it didn’t bring destruction.
It brought liberation.

It whispered something I had once heard, but never embodied:
“What if it gets to be easy?”
What if I drop the pressure, but keep the purpose?
What if I let joy lead for once—not duty?
What if I stopped preparing for disaster and made space for delight?
Here are the questions I’m holding under this New Moon. Maybe you want to sit with them, too:
• Where am I trying to control what can only be felt?
• Where am I trying to adhere to an unrealistic standard built on the myth of achieving perfect balance?
• What systems in my life need to flow, not be fixed?
• Can I release my grip and allow ease and flow to move through me?
• What if I chose ease today—not as avoidance, but as a radical act of trust?
